Scheduling and tasks

Construction scheduling and task management software

Plan the job on a Gantt chart, break it into tasks with an owner and a due date, and watch progress update as the site diary is filled in — across every project you run.

From the schedule down to the task

  • Gantt chart with dependencies

Link tasks finish-to-start, start-to-start, finish-to-finish or start-to-finish, add milestones and highlight the critical path that drives your end date. The today line shows what is slipping.

  • List, Kanban and Gantt views

The same tasks as a grouped list, a Kanban board or a timeline. Planners work on the Gantt, supervisors on the list, and nobody keeps a second copy.

  • Owners, checklists and evidence

Every task has an owner, assignees, a due date and a priority. Add a checklist, ask for photo evidence and require an approval before a task counts as completed.

  • Progress that comes from the site

Subtasks carry quantities and hours, and the daily diary entries move the task forward. The percentage on the schedule is what was actually built, not a guess.

  • Every project on one dashboard

Overdue tasks, open RFIs, who is on site today and how each project is progressing — for all your sites, on one screen.

  • Templates, labels and custom fields

Start a project from a template or duplicate a finished one. Add your own statuses, labels and custom fields so the tool speaks your company’s language.

How scheduling works in SiteNext

  1. Create the project

From scratch, from a template or by duplicating a similar job. Add the sites, the dates and the team.

  2. Build the schedule

Group tasks by phase, set durations, link the dependencies and place the milestones.

  3. Assign the work

Give each task an owner and a due date. The people concerned are notified in the app and on their phone.

  4. Follow the progress

Diary entries and completed subtasks update the schedule. Export the task report when the client asks where things stand.

Questions about scheduling and tasks

Is SiteNext a replacement for MS Project or Primavera?

SiteNext is built to run the job on site: a schedule the whole team can read and update, tied to tasks, the diary and RFIs. Contractors who need resource-levelled baseline schedules for very large programs usually keep a dedicated planning tool for that and use SiteNext for the day-to-day.

Can subcontractors update their own tasks?

Yes. Team members are free and unlimited, so you can invite subcontractors and give them access to the projects they work on. They see their tasks and can update them from a phone.

How is task progress calculated?

From the work recorded: the quantities and hours entered on subtasks, and the daily diary entries linked to the task. You can still set a status by hand — blocked, pending approval, cancelled.

Can I export the schedule or the task list?

The task report is available as a PDF, an Excel workbook or a CSV file, filtered the way the list is on screen.
